Sony has released the PS4 in 12 new countries, bringing the number of territories it's available in to 48.

A post on the PS Blog announces "players in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Slovakia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and South Africa," are all now able to buy the new console.

The company recently announced that it's already sold 2.1 million consoles since launching in North America on November 15 and in parts of Europe and Australasia on November 29. Now, company has told investors it wants to sell 3 million consoles by the end of the year, and hit the 5 million mark by March 2014, this is certainly a step in the right direction.

While the Xbox one also crossed the 2 million mark and is supposedly to give tough challenge to the PS4.
